MACD Annual Meeting

The Michigan Association of Conservation Districts 2017 annual meeting will be held on Thursday, November 2, 9:00am at Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire, MI.

The following business will be held during the MACD Annual Meeting:

2017 Officer Elections

The officers of the Association are the President, Vice-President, Secretary Treasurer
and immediate Past President, whom are elected to two year terms.  The 2017 Annual Meeting will hold elections for the officer position.  

Nominations for President:
Art Pelon, Ionia Conservation District Board Chair and MACD President
Paul Schroeder, Muskegon Conservation District Board Chair and MACD Region 7 Chair

Nominations for Vice President:
Gerald Miller, Kent Conservation District Vice Chair and MACD Vice President
Randy Gentz, Marquette Conservation District Chair and MACD Region 1 Chair

Nominations for Secretary Treasurer:
Donna Fritz, Huron Conservation District Treasurer and MACD Secretary Treasurer
Elaine Brown, Clinton Conservation District Treasurer and MACD Region 7 Vice Chair

2017 Resolutions

Districts, Regional Councils, Association Committees and the State Council may propose a resolution.  The following have been presented for consideration at the 2017 Annual Meeting.

Bylaws may be amended at any meeting of the Assembly by a 2/3 vote of the districts present.  The following amendments have been presented for consideration at the 2017 Annual Meeting: 

Bylaw Amendment 2017-1 To provide for the engagement of Associate Directors on the MACD State Council.
By-Law Amendment 2017-2 To revise the list of Conservation Districts within the Region Listing.

Districts, Regional Councils, Association Committees, and the State Council may file late resolutions to be presented at the MACD Annual Meeting. Late resolutions will require a majority vote of the quorum of the Assembly for acceptance.

MACD Region Meetings

Region Meetings will be held prior to the MACD Annual Meeting at 8:00am on Thursday, November 2.

The region meetings provide the opportunity for District board and staff members to discuss regional topics and resolutions that will be presented during the MACD Annual Meeting. 

Regional Officer Elections

Region 2,4, 6, 8, and 10 will hold elections for Regional Council officers during the regional meetings held at the Convention.  Regional officers represent the interests of Conservation Districts on the MACD State Council.  To learn more about the MACD State Council, Click Here.
